FREQUENCY 06 · TEST THE MACHINE
THE PERFORMANCE
FREQUENCY.
Performance is proof.
Training without testing becomes theory. A man can train hard for months without ever knowing how he actually performs under pressure.
The race. The benchmark. The event. Performance gives training purpose — and creates the evidence that the work is real.
PROOF IS THE
ONLY STANDARD.
The Performance Frequency is about applying what you have built. Strength, endurance, athleticism, discipline and recovery all exist to serve one moment: when you are required to perform.
Inside MYFREQ, performance is not about ego. It is about objective evidence. Benchmarks. Race results. Times. Weights. Distances. Numbers that do not lie.
Performance gives training direction and meaning beyond aesthetics.
Races and benchmarks reveal what is working and what is not.
Results create the evidence that the system produces output.
Performance achieved at 35+ becomes proof for the men watching.
WITHOUT A TARGET,
TRAINING DRIFTS.
Most men train consistently but aimlessly. They show up. They work hard. But without a clear performance target, training becomes maintenance — and maintenance is not growth.
A performance goal changes everything. It creates urgency. It forces structure. It reveals gaps. It connects daily training to something that matters beyond the gym.
For men over 35, performance goals are also psychologically powerful. Competing again — even only against yourself — reactivates the athlete's mindset that adult life quietly suppresses.
The man who lines up at a HYROX event, or hits a new running benchmark, or carries a personal record — that man carries himself differently. Performance creates evidence of capability.
WHY HYROX IS THE
IDEAL HYBRID TEST.
HYROX is not a fitness trend. It is one of the cleanest tests of hybrid performance in existence. It demands running capacity, strength endurance, pacing, station skill, transition efficiency and composure under sustained fatigue.
For men over 35, HYROX is particularly well-suited. It rewards intelligence, structure and preparation. It does not simply reward youth or raw cardiovascular power. A well-prepared man of 40 outperforms an underprepared man of 25.
MYFREQ is built around the qualities HYROX tests. Every Frequency — from Strength to Recovery — contributes to HYROX performance. Training for HYROX through the MYFREQ system is not a detour. It is the system used correctly.
RUNNING UNDER FATIGUE
The ability to maintain pace when the body is already loaded. This is trained through zone 2 base work, intervals, and station-to-run transitions. It is the difference between surviving HYROX and racing it.
STRENGTH UNDER PRESSURE
Station output diminishes as fatigue accumulates. Men who have built a real strength base — not just gym strength — maintain technique and power through sleds, carries, lunges and wall balls when others break down.
PERFORMANCE STANDARDS
Benchmarks create direction. Useful standards include running splits, station times, total race time, strength numbers and conditioning markers. Progress that is not measured is progress that is not happening.
PACING
The most common HYROX mistake is going out too fast. Controlled output in the opening minutes — especially on the first run — creates a sustainable race. Pacing is strategy, not weakness.
TRANSITIONS
Many athletes lose time and composure moving between stations. A trained transition — controlled breathing, efficient setup, clean start — is not a detail. It is part of the race.
RACE PREPARATION
Race day success is 80% what happened in the 12 weeks before. Sleep, nutrition, taper, station rehearsal and mental clarity all determine performance before the clock starts.
TRAINING WITHOUT TESTING
Endless preparation with no benchmark creates the illusion of progress. Test regularly. Benchmarks reveal reality.
GOING OUT TOO FAST
Most men blow up in the first half of any race or event. Controlled output in the opening minutes creates a stronger second half.
IGNORING THE RUN
Strength-focused men underestimate how much the running sections dictate the entire HYROX race. The run shapes the stations.
PRACTISING STATIONS TOO LATE
Station technique must be learned before race week. Practice wall balls, carries, lunges and transitions with fresh legs first, then under fatigue.
TREATING HYROX LIKE A GYM WORKOUT
HYROX is a race. Pacing, transitions, breathing strategy and station order all matter. Random intensity training will not prepare you for it.
UNDER-FUELLING
Performance training demands fuel. Cutting calories too hard during HYROX prep destroys output, recovery and muscle retention.

Coming SoonWhat does the Performance Frequency mean in MYFREQ?
The Performance Frequency is about testing what you have built. It means using races, benchmarks, events and standards to create proof of progress. HYROX is the flagship example.
Is HYROX good for men over 35?
Yes. HYROX is an excellent performance goal for men over 35 because it demands strength, running, pacing and composure — qualities that a structured hybrid training system develops.
How should I train for HYROX?
A HYROX programme should include strength training, running in multiple zones, station practice, conditioning work, recovery and nutrition. Random high-intensity sessions are not enough.
How do I track performance progress?
Use benchmarks: running splits, station times, strength numbers and race results. Track trends over weeks and months. Progress that is not measured is not managed.
Can I combine fat loss with HYROX training?
Yes, but nutrition must be managed carefully. Keep protein high, avoid extreme deficits and fuel hard sessions. Under-eating during race prep destroys performance.
